JFK Assassination JFK was the 35th president of the United States. He was a very popular president, he has the highest approval ratings of all the presidents since World War II. In 1963 JFK was starting to plan for reelection and was going to start it by going to Dallas, Texas. By going to Dallas Kennedy was hoping to mend some political fences on the Democratic side. After months of planning his trip John Kennedy and his wife finally touched down in Dallas, Texas on November 22,1963 at 11:40 a.m. Later that day Kennedy, his wife and Governor Connally were traveling in a presidential motorcade through downtown Dallas. For this very reason many conspiracy theories were creating involving many different scenarios, some even involved JFK not really being dead. Although many of these theories are not very believable and do not hold up to be factual, some are something that will make you think and are very popular beliefs. Firstly, there is the Umbrella theory. This theory is based around a man that had open an umbrella the day of the assassination. This was unusual because that day it was bright and sunny. The theory states that as Kennedy was going by in the car the man shot him- using his umbrella fastened at a shooting device- in the throat. A second theory is the two shooters theory. This states that not only had Oswald shot at the president but there was also someone else. This theory comes from many thoughts. One thought is that some people actually think they saw a second man with a gun that day or even some reports of a puff of gun smoke. Another thought is that the way both Governor Connally and President Kennedy were hit with the same bullet. This fact seemed mysterious to multiple people. The last theory is that the C.I.A. was somehow involved. Now this is not a specific theory but there are many different versions of how they could have been involved. Some swear that Oswald was C.I.A., and some also swear JFK was.
