Analyzing student K written piece, I found out that she is at a transitional stage according to the Developmental Reading and Writing Stages Continuum (Laureate Education, 2014b). The learner can write an opinion, include paragraph development, being to edit and revise for specific purposes and applies spelling strategies to difficult words. As mentioned earlier, I think the learner is in this stage because she has not found a motivation, all she has felt is frustration and is not self-conducted. Related to The Writer Self-Perception Scale, K needs a lot of support and motivation that she could meet her goals and be a successful learner, all of the answers were between undecided and disagree. According to this scale, K disagree at being a good writer, that her writing has not improved, her selection of words are chosen carefully, that her teacher thinks she is a good writer and that she is relax when writing.
