Schools should establish a 4-day school week because it will increase school funds. Four-day weeks are a better solution to saving money for school districts. If they do not change to a 4-day week school system, they could potentially begin to cut school programs, and extracurricular activities that the district cannot afford (CCX). Many districts, who were going over their budgets for the new school year, began to cut their art and language programs to save money. They are taking away from a student's education and their freedom to try different activities throughout their school career. They could also use that money to invest in new equipment for the athletes, upkeep the fields, and provide the resources needed for a student athlete. Also, they could invest in more art programs like choir, band, orchestra, art, and many other classes. It allows students to have a creative outlet to relax and enjoy a new hobby. It is also proven that students should be a part of music, or art programs because it is a helpful source to becoming better educated. Taking these activities away because they do not have enough money to keep the programs would be detrimental to the children. I firmly believe that having a 4-day school week would provide the necessary funding needed to keep the arts programs and provide more for the athletic department. Another reason that schools may need to increase funds is to have more resources and advanced classes. Whenever a school is not properly funded, the education that the students begin to receive is only mediocre. New resources are needed to receive a better education and provide the stability that is needed for the students who want to receive a higher
