A large aspect of my identity is my interest in intersectional social justice. It stemmed from taking care of my grandparents at a young age as they lived with my family until I reached seventeen. From caring for them after surgeries to making sure they are taking their medications, the experience of being a caregiver at such a young age gave me a broader perspective of life.

I learned a lot from my grandparents and how they struggled back home in India, especially my grandmother, who even though faced the harsh misogynistic standards of her time, still managed to receive an education and earn a job as a teacher.
