Donna O’Meara is a famed geologist with an insane story of being stuck in an erupting volcano and surviving. She has met many hardships and has had many times in which she was unsure of something. A few examples are in the story Donna O'Meara: The Volcano Lady. One is her choice to pursue geology instead of photography. Evidence of this can be found in the same story: "As she worked on different magazines and books, she gradually began to realize that something was missing in her life. When Donna went back to school at the age of 32 to study science, her passion for volcanoes began." Because of her love of Geology, she decided to pursue Geology, changing her career path. Another is when, after she started geology, she explored Mount Kilauea.
