Being of Puerto Rican descent, I have a strong connection with my culture. I grew up with my mother and father, both Puerto Ricans. They upheld many traditions that their parents taught them. Subsequently, it has made me passionate about learning more about my culture and to continue these traditions as I get older. Being Puerto Rican has also opened doors to countless opportunities by growing up bilingual. Spanish is the primary language spoken in my home, forcing me to become fluent.
