The movie Harriet is based on true events that happened in the world. The movie is an autobiography about Harriet Tubman. She freed 150 slaves through the underground railroad. At the beginning of the movie Harriet was on the ground having a vision of her talking to God. Harreit had a husband that was free, he woke her up from her vision with marriage papers, back then black people couldn't legally marry without consent from their master. The master did not accept them getting married so he ripped the papers up, Harriet didn't like that so she ran to the tree and prayed to god he would take her master away. Harriet was running all night and giddying finally caught her at a bridge. Harriet was on the edge of the bridge about to jump. Giddying tried to persuade her to come back but she jumped and her words were "ImmaImma be free or die". She woke up with rips in her clothes, shoes gone but she still continued her journey to freedom, It was pouring raining when she got to a city she asked a man the directions to a place he told her to cover up and gave her a blanket she walked into a building and passed out because of the long journey she had come from. Harriet then woke up in a bed, the man drove her to the state line of Philadelphia. She walked to the man who changed her name and made her a free woman, a year later she felt like her family was in trouble so she went back to get them.
