The issue of whether transgender individuals should serve in the military has become a highly debated topic in recent years as the LGBT community continues to grow within the United States. In “6 Ridiculous Arguments In Favor Of Transgender Soldiers,” Donna Carol Voss gives six arguments made by individuals who are in support of transgender soldiers. Voss then rebuttals their arguments and tells why they are incorrect. This opinion article does a superb job of laying out their facts and supporting them with reasonable examples. This paper will discuss how transgender soldiers are qualified just as other soldiers, how to avoid the problems Voss stated, and the reasons transgender soldiers will help strengthen the military and better protect the United States When looking at the issues presented by Voss, it is illustrated that serving in the military is not easy for transgender people.
