Several people are victims of losing an arm or a leg. These types of injuries take away freedom and a lot of happiness. Many people suffer from psychological problem, but the problems can be fixed with the new advances in prosthetics. The majority who need a prosthetic usually can’t control them well, they can’t feel, and they can’t function like they used to. Artificial limbs have developed a way for amputee victims to have limbs, but advancements have created a sense of feel and the ability to control prosthetics a lot better.
Creating a sense of feel in the prosthetic department changes things world wide. Amputees struggle with not being able to feel a soft sheet or feel anything hot and cold. Their prosthetic doesn’t contain sensors, until now. Scientists have discovered a way to put sensors in mechanical tendons in prosthetic fingers, which sends electrical signals to be processed by the brain. This type of discovery can help so many people because it improves their mental health by having what they lost back. Also, the patients that have been involved in these experiments can control their prosthetic a lot better than what they could without feeling.

Scientist have created a way that patients can control their prosthetic with their mind. They have done this by setting up electrodes at different place and practically “hooking” them up to the brain, but a computer is involved to help the process out. After a while the patient's brain will have pattern recognition that will recognize things that are daily habits. This type of advancement is important because it help the patients work their prosthetic more fluently instead of working like a robot. Amputees will soon have their own prosthetic that functions like a normal
