In United States, the court authority is shared between the different levels of the government. The court system should be consistent with the constitution and most the citizen expect them to be that way. However, there is a conflict on the way people think about its structures and the formation. There are five methods of judge selection that are used around the nation: partisan elections, nonpartisan elections, appointment by the governor, selection by the legislature, and the "merit system" or "Missouri system.” Texas court system is very unique compared to other states. In the process of election where the candidates get to talk to their voter about their belief, stance on some of the issues, and their views towards the conflicting cases. This allows voter to make a decision based on their belief and stances, so it is ultimately an informed decision. It is also too optimistic and idealistic to think that all the judges are neutral in the political views. There should be some point when judges will become politically satisfy towards one of the political party or their view. There is rarely a chance that judge will ever be politically neutral and make all the decision without any political biases. So rather than hiding their political view, why not make it public and discuss in the public about their perspectives. Making their viewpoint public eliminates any of the surprises decision that may have arises during their tenure. Infect, there are several problems and concern with the judicial system in Texas because of the way they elect judges rather appointing them. One of the problems is that they judges will be under-represented by the minorities and lower class that can also result in impartial judgments from the judges. Obviously minority and lower class cannot contribute more to the fundraising of the judge so the judge doesn't have any unpaid debt to worry about while dealing with the under-represented cases. It will definitely add in to the inconsistency towards the judges because they might have be lenient towards those who have had big contributions towards his/her campaign and be very strict towards those who did not have any contribution towards judge success. It will even be more problematic if the case that judge have to make decision to are to the ones between his biggest contributor and the non-contributor because it will be likely the judge decision will favor his biggest
