Does stress affect the body temperature? My science fair question was, does stress affect the body temperature? I believed that stress affect the body temperature. I gathered all of my websites and pulled facts from them. My evidence was from http://www.webmd.com/balance/stress. “Stress is the body’s reaction to any change that requires an adjustment or response. The body reacts to these changes with physical, mental, and emotional response”, “Many events that happen to you and around you and many things that you do yourself put stress on your body. You can experience stress from your environment, your body, and your thoughts. “Stress can be positive, keeping us alert ready to void danger. Stress becomes negative when a person faces continuous challenges. Without relief another evidence is experincelife.com. ”The nervous system increases heart rate constricts some blood vessels and dilates others, slow down the insensitive, inhibits digestive secretions, and prompts. Now I gathered all of my facts and created my research. I learned in my research that the course of stress are physical, mental and emotional problems. When a person face challenge, tension builds. When tension builds, the nervous system heart rate constricts. Some blood vessels dilates. Other such a intensities, inhibits digestive secretions and prompts glands to flood the system cortisol. Blood vessels constricts during the stress response, which makes it harder for the heart to pump blood. High blood pressure from constricted vessels and increased cortisol and can lead to over production of low density cholesterol. The good news is that you can exercise, meditate to reduce stress. Before I do anything else, I gather all of my materials which is, 2 test subject, basal thermometer(1), computer(1), printer(1), data chart(2), stopwatch, pen (black pen). What I did with all of these materials is I design a test for my two test subject. Before I give them their test, I check their temperature and it was fairly normal which is 97.3 and 96.5.
