Nevertheless, the significant step from childhood to adulthood is a similar life changing yet unknown experience that has awaited the fates of boys transitioning into young men. In a few cases, some teenagers will react poorly to the growing stages of adolescence potentially causing depression; this sort of depression can ultimately open the gateway for suicidal thoughts. At an age when Craig was innocent, he got molested by his male baby sitter which will significantly impact his life. Due to Craig’s shy character his secret never escaped which will ultimately lead to his depression. One article discussed about Craig’s suffering because of the emotional abuse from his family and childhood upbringing, sexuality, and Christianity; as a result, this formulated into a sense of alienation (The Beautiful Ambiguity of Blankets). Under the circumstances, Craig will become atheist after graduating high school and will move away from home. These are not the typical teenagers; Sam was perceived as a whore while Patrick was gay, however, these are Charlie’s first friends in high school.
