The soundtrack is just the tide and small little sound effects but there is no dialogue. The lack of dialogue is the biggest part because in the absence of words viewers can just focus on actions and the overall message. Without speech the baby piper and the hermit crab can’t argue about the benefits or disadvantages each of them have from their way, but rather learn by example. They can’t let words get in the way of their actions which really helps the story progress. Another tactic Pixar used to make the film more relatable to everyone, is that it is animated. Animation can be more entertaining and often more relatable. Without acting there are more possibilities of where the story could lead. Animation allows for a fun, friendly, approachable film that welcomes an audience of all ages. Although, animation is usually directed toward a younger audience this film has the perfect balance of cute youthfulness and maturity with important message at the end.
