From the deaths of our close ones to the deaths of our brother and sisters around the world, we have or will come to realize that this life we're living is temporary, so in the meantime that we're still here, healthy and alive, why not live it to the fullest and be happy with a reductive memory that will receive and hold on to the good memories and throw away the bad ones. For instance, imagine yourself in the future as an elderly who's has just be told by the doctor that you don't have much time until you die. At that moment, it's hard to accept it but as the days go on, you finally take it in, so with that small time left, wouldn't you want to forget about the whole dying and go on with living your simple and good life or would you just end yourself there in sorrow of why this is happening. Just know even if you chose to not remember bad memories, it's okay because although it's not entirely being honest with yourself, your good because it's for you alone, and that is what is what Anna Quindlen wants us to know in her essay, The Lighting Bugs are Back …show more content…

These bugs will and are playing a huge role in her claim because she knows that they're just bugs but she's hoping that her child will see something else, positive and good so that it'll embed in his memory forever.
