Both Jim Abbott and the people from Apollo 13 were dedicated. Jim Abbott was born without a right hand. He loved the game and to play the game of baseball. Many thought that Abbott couldn’t play baseball because of his hand. He also himself had a lot of self doubt and insecurity. But when he got older his mom, dad, and teachers helped him get over it. Due to this he didn’t mind anyone making fun of him he just overcame it. With the hard work he put in he went to the MLB. After a couple years of hard work he pitched his first no-hitter. “That all changed on Sept. 4, 1993, when Abbott, then with the Yankees, tossed a no-hitter against the Cleveland Indians.” The dedication and time he put in caused him to have great success.
