Pennies are a strong source of American tradition. They have been a currency of the U.S since 1797. You may be wondering why people would want to eliminate them. There are three pivotal reasons. The penny is worth 1 cent, it is made of copper and zinc, and harms the environment. So, why would people ever argue to keep such a worthless coin?
