At first, getting David Berkowitz instead of those wanted was a huge disappointment. Not knowing anything about serial killers in general, Upon realizing that Berkowitz was the famous “Son of Sam”, all thoughts of regret suddenly vanished. Knowing that a single man terrorized the streets of the metropolitan area, instilling fear into 16 million people is just mind-blowing.
David Berkowitz was born on June 1st, 1953 to Betty Broder and Joseph Kleinman. David was born Richard David Falco. Betty was, at first, married to Tony Falco and had a daughter with him-however, he had abandoned her. She had an affair with Kleinman and when she told Kleinman that she was pregnant, he wanted nothing to do with the baby and demanded that she get rid of it. She ended up having the baby, but listed him under Tony Falco as the father. David was put up for adoption, and Nathan and Pearl Berkowitz took him in, changing his name.

At one point, he stated that his murder sprees occurred because of all of the porn that he was addicted to, and another point he stated that he was part of a Satanic occult that obviously worshipped Satan and would sacrifice living things. When they finally found him, the first words that he said were “What took you so long”, since it has been over a year since the murders started taking place in ‘76.
