Graduating high school is probably going to be one of your greatest life accomplishments. Walking across that stage to show that four years of hard work and dedication has lead you to this day, the day you can finally put those years behind you. Now what is life like after high school? You finally got into the college you wanted to be in and you find that it is on a whole new level from high school. Just what makes these two levels of education different from one another? These are some examples explaining the differences between the two.
How the classes operate: In high school you were given a set schedule of classes to follow throughout your day; where the rooms are located, and what time to be in that classroom. Teachers will also have a schedule of their own to plan a lesson of the curriculum to teach you on that day. Now in college you sign up for the classes that you want to take and pay the tuition fee required for the course. Classes you pick will work around your schedule as you can pick when you want to take your classes at a specific time and day. In college, your professors will also have a planned lesson to teach you but the style of teaching is much different from a high school environment. Yes you will be taught the subject but in the end it is up to you to proficiently teach yourself how to do the work needed to complete the class. This is different from high school as you are taught the subject in a more lengthy manner.
Now in high school your teachers are there to motivate you to complete your assignments by any means. They usually either inform you of missing or late work that can or cannot be completed. Now, whether you receive a good or bad teacher, they are there to teach you the needed information to help you understand the curriculum better. In college, the professors aren’t always so forgiving like high school teachers. They expect that you are able to manage your time correctly and that you can teach yourself the subject so that you can better understand it yourself. College professors are expertly trained in their field of work. They can elaborate on the subject more whereas textbooks can only teach you so much. As being professionals in their field of work they can be very helpful in aiding you in any troubles you have with the course and if professors aren’t available colleges usually have on-campus
