Snap! A twig snaps under my feet as I crept toward the deer. It flipped its head toward me. Staring at me like I’m the Creature of the Black Lagoon. Then, I raised my gun ever so slowly, and BAM! Its body collapsed in a bloody mess. Now, what do I do? Big Game Trophy Hunting is one of the many activities that we do that is unnecessary but very dangerous. This should be made illegal due to environmental dangers and the decrease of food.

This type of hunting is a large environmental danger. Some might say “Hunting provides food for us,” or “This helps keep the populations under control.” All this might be true, but populations would even rise more if we kept this hunting up. An example of this would be if someone kills several bears, the lakes or oceans would be overpopulated, due to their appetite of salmon. According to a New York Times article, “The population of deer was originally held in check be larger predators including wolves, cougars, and bears, but the killing of these animals has led to the overpopulation of deer.” Another excuse that would be possibly argued would be the source of food. From earlier reports, there have been accidents involving the animal and the hunter. For example, if a deer jolted across the highway and the hunter ran after it, the hunter would have a high risk of being killed by the moving vehicle. Other than the risk of the hunter being killed, they have a high risk of being arrested for this activity.
