To todays less educated southern society Bob Marley is only seen as a part time musician full time marijuana enthusiast, but that is only because of the ignorance and inability to see greatness of my generation. Bob Marley helped lead Jamaica out of years of oppression. He did this only armed with his bravado and music. Those acts of greatness and courage should be enough for our respect and admiration.

Who was he?
Bob Marley was born on February 6, 1945, in Nine Miles, Saint Ann,
Jamaica, to Norval Marley and Cedella Booker. His father was a Jamaican of English descent. His mother was a black teenager. This mixed ethnic background automatically put him at the bottom of the food chain. Bob Marley married Alpharetta Constantia "Rita" Anderson
