The Boston Tea Party

Grade 5 Introduction:
The Boston Tea Party was one of the many famous events in the revolutionary war and in American History. This action taken by the colonists is considered treason. It was a very brave thing to do. There were more than 300 chests of tea dumped in the harbor that night, and the colonists had to take out three different ships. They worked hard all night, and in the end they accomplished their goal. This brave action, was taken by the son’s of liberty. And Because of all the risks that they took so long ago, Today, we are a free country. “LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!”

The Boston Tea party happened at Boston Harbor. This event took place because the colonists did not want to pay the tax on tea. So on December 16, 1773 a secret organization called the Sons of Liberty dumped east india tea into the water in 3 british ships. Other patriots were cheering for the Sons of Liberty as the Sons of Liberty yelled “No taxation without representation ! “The Boston Tea Party was an historical event that the colonists have done to show the King that they won't pay any taxes. O taxation without “representation” is what they would say. The Sonsś of liberty are the ones who decided to take this daring action. In fact, it was considered treason! The punishment for treason is death, so if one of them were caught, it would have been ov3r for them. The Sonś of liberty dumped over 300 chests of tea in the harbor, and they had to take on three different ships. They worked hard and swiftly all night, until finally they had done it. many people were watching from the dock, and they were cheering them on. The sequel wasn’t quite as impressive as the original, But they still made good progress towards achieving their goal.
Conclusion:
The Boston tea Party sure was an important historical moment in American History. It was one of the many incredible actions the colonists made to show King George That they didn’t what pay his taxes. That was the reason they wanted their freedom in the first place. “No taxation without representation”! Is what it was really all about. The Boston Tea Party was just another way of showing the king that they wanted to be free from him and his taxes.
