The television show Castle is about a writer that works with NYPD homicide detectives to gather information for his books. Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) is a popular writer that is stuck in a rut and needs inspiration for his writing. He begins to tag along with an NYPD detective by the name of Kate Beckett (Stana Katic). She finds him obnoxious and overly confident, but secretly enjoys his writing. Beckett finds out that Castle is more useful than she thought and they quickly become friends. Both of them hide their true feelings about each other and slowly their friendship starts to develop into something more. The story mainly revolves around these two characters. The other two detectives could also be considered a part of the ensemble. The antagonist in the story would be the murderer that Castle and Beckett are trying to find. The complicating action in the episode is the murder of a man that possessed a valuable painting. The woman that witnessed the murder is obnoxious and unpleasant, but she helps with the investigation by using her hyperosmia to sniff out the murderer. Castle is working with the woman to help solve the murder in order to win back his wife Beckett. Castle and Beckett are currently separated, but Castle is insisting on working the case to get back in Beckett’s good graces. After bringing in a number of suspects and using the woman to sniff them out, they find themselves without a suspect. Castle and the woman find a man with a painting that could be involved. After discovering that the painting is a fake, the investigation is halted by the lack of suspects and evidence. A man shows up with a gun at Castle’s loft wanting him to steal the painting from the police. There is a struggle and Castle knocks the man out and takes his gun. Beckett arrives to evaluate the situation and they realize
