Pearl Harbor is a United States naval base in Honolulu, Hawaii that was destroyed by the Japanese naval forces. Japan had a plan that they called the “Hawaiian Operation’’ where they would plan to ambush Pearl Harbor and destroy everything in their way. Therefore, the Japanese had two waves of fighter planes that were equipped with torpedoes and a variety of other bombs, the first wave had 183 fighter planes and the second wave had a total of 167 fighter planes. Next, the Japanese began ambushing the harbor on December 7, 1941, killing more than 2,400 people and injured 1,000 including civilians and destroying 20 American naval vessels. The United States was unhappy about Japan’s attitude towards China, but Japan believed that it was the only way to solve their economic problems and Japan wanted to expand their territory. Japan declared war on China in 1937, the United States wanted to try and resolve this problem, but they never could solve it because neither side would agree on anything.
