The main character of the story (narrator), of the novel the Kite Runner surrounds a boy named Amir. Who has a privileged upbringing. His father, Baba,is a wealthy, and because of this Amir always grew up spoiled. The one thing that Amir doesn't have is attention or passionate love from his father, which he blames himself for.He thinks that Baba doesn't like him as much as he should for “killing” his mother during child birth, and also believes that Baba wishes that Amir would be more like himself. Amir,always behaves jealously toward anyone getting Baba’s affection. His relationship with Hassan shows this. Even though Hassan is Amir’s best friend, Amir thinks less of Hassan because he's a servant and Hazara . When Hassan get’s Baba’s attention, Amir gets jelousy and try's to hurt Hassan emotionally instead of physically ( the watch placed under Hassans bed). At the same time Hassan is always there for Amir which shows Amir lack of integrity ( Hassans rape, Hassan defending them with the sling shot). Hassan always remains the same: loyal, forgiving, in other words he gives instead of taking.Hassan and his father Ali are servants for Baba and Amir which deaply impacted his life.For example when Amir gets ready to go to school Hassan makes serves him breakfast. As a result, Hassan learns that it is his duty to sacrifice himself for others. Hassan isn't the type of person to envy he's content with what he has, he said this to Amir even though Hassan is fully aware that Amir has more things than him.In other words Hassan is the concept of innocence, and in the story the innocence is sort of destroyed after Asser rapes Hassan. First, Hassan’s innocence gives Amir no justifiable reason to betray Hassan. Amir's behavior cannot be understood, in this book, how he just let Hassan get raped, but in multiple religions, forgiveness is key which is what Hassan does
