The Lost City of Z, as coiled by Col. Percy Harrison Fawcett who as a British surveyor was a city that existed deep in the jungle of Mato Grosso in the country of Brazil. As referenced in Manuscript 512, the city was described in great detail without stating where it was exactly found. All the documents pertaining to this mysterious city is housed at the National Library of Rio de Janeiro. The history behind Fawcett’s involvement in the city began when he heard about it during the early 1900s. He wanted to learn more so he flew to Rio de Janeiro and was able to discover the report. True enough Fawcett and his team went missing while trying to discover the mysterious Z. The purpose of his exploration was he wanted to make archeological history. But his dreams vanished when he went missing without a trace. However, the disappearance of his team sparked many speculation and many wanted to follow their footsteps. Many who tried to find them, soon died trying to unearth the evidence of the disappearance. Some theories of his disappearance include incidents of ambush and accidents. One person who got curious with Fawcett’s disappearance was James Lynch, who ordered a search team in 1996. The hunters who were financed by Lynch, however, were captured by Amazonian Indians and were held hostage in demand for a ransom. They were only spared after paying $ 30,000 worth of equipment in order to spare their lives.
