While growing up I witnessed my aunt suffer years through her treatment, especially since she had little control over the state of her breast cancer. The lack of pharmaceutical advancement in Iraq, a country that was not quite up to the modern medicine standards, and the extremely expensive treatments made it tough for my aunt to deal with her cancer disease. My life changed after the passing of my aunt; and I was old enough to truly understand the meaning and effects of drugs. These memories will be engraved in my mind as the trigger to my love for medicine and drugs. Growing from these past experiences, I developed a sense of care, empathy, and patience.

Growing up in a country where there are millions of people in need had always inspired me to give back to the community. Whether it was feeding the homeless at my local church, or spending hundreds of hours in Detroit volunteering- giving back to the community has always been a passion. Extracurricular activities that I was involved in include volunteering for the Habitat of Humanity. When I was taking courses at Wayne State University, located in the heart of Detroit, I witnessed many underprivileged people. I decided to give back to the community by cleaning up the city of Detroit. Being involved on campus not only helped me interact with different kinds of people, but it also made me a strong and independent person. I cleaned up the garbage from unsheltered homes with my fellow classmates. Volunteering and serving those in need furthered my interest in being a pharmacist. I was part of the Pre-Professional Medical Society. It was an honor for me to be part of this society. Being part of this honor society allowed me to attend activities such as the science outreach day at local elementary schools and have a tee shirt sale to promote this organization. Being in this honor society also allowed me to take part in pre-health gatherings and this also further solidified my passion in
