Starting at a young age, Nikola Tesla was intrigued by the idea of electricity. He created motors powered by June bugs and designed the first alternating current motor. As he got older, the inventions moved on to make …show more content…
The luxuries we have today wouldn't have been possible without the effort and creations by inventors like Edison and Tesla. According to Actipost, their invention of alternating and direct currents were the basic foundation for mass communication and electrical appliances.
Thomas Edison wasn’t as quick as Tesla, but he was very precise, careful, and detailed. Using careful depicted notes, he spent all day adjusting machines, often found with many springs and coils surrounding his work area. Using the direct current, he attempted to improve the light bulb. The vacuum found in bulbs today were discovered and tinkered by Tesla. Though his vacuum was successful, his student, Nikola Tesla, eventually surpassed his achievement by creating a more efficient one. Angered by this, Tesla resigned when Edison refused to pay him. After this, Thomas Edison refused to quit. In 1877, Edison was set on improving the telegraph. Instead, he created a machine that could record and playback noises and music, called the phonograph. It eventually was able to play music, and evolved to meet our new standards …show more content…
Their creative experiments and inventions allowed the economy to come as far as cell phones, television, computers, and even medical help, like x-rays. They helped establish the basis for mass modern communication, entertainment, and energy efficiency. Who was the most significant inventor? Both of them improved the economy significantly. Depending on your views, both were important and essential to where we are today. Nikola Tesla contributed to energy conservation, while Thomas Edison granted us the privilege for light bulbs and
