I believe that the film Forbidden City and Flower Drum Song are still very relevant to the current portrayal of the Asian American culture. Looking at both films, we can see the emphasis on the culture and tradition and how Asian American characters are portrayed. These films illustrate the common stereotypes among Asian Americans. For instance, in Forbidden City, most of the parents of the performers were very traditional and they want they just want to their children to obey them. Same goes to Flower Drum Song, Master Wang is very traditional and even though he lives in in San Francisco, he still not used to the American life and still doing things in a traditional way.
