Macbeth was first viewed as a brave man for his victory in the battlefield and winning the king’s trust, however, his continuous horrible actions throughout the play identify him as an anti-hero. After listening to the witches prophecies about him becoming thane, he decides to kill Duncan. Macbeth was challenged by whether or not he should believe what the witches tell him. For instance, after they talked to him the first time, he was always thinking about being the next king. He wanted things to go faster than they’re supposed to go and this shows how easily he could believe things. Macbeth was also challenged by Lady Macbeth. He didn’t know if he should be listening to her or doing what she tells him to do. When she told him to murder Duncan, Macbeth was always having second thoughts about it. This shows how he was scared. It also shows how he had a good heart at one point but now it’s fading. These weren’t his only challenges; Macbeth was also scared to lose his close friends’ trust. When he killed Duncan, Banquo started suspecting him and that scared him. He also lost Macduff’s trust and that's when he decided to kill his family.
