We all have our pros and cons, strengths and weaknesses, but no one is the same. Its differences make us what we are! In the book “Fahrenheit 451” by Bradbury, the similarity between them and us are… disturbing and sad. We may very well be headed towards this dystopia of arrogance and bliss. While the dystopia is far more technologically advanced and depends on it, we are similar in the way that we’re using our phones and tablets for everything! We use them for the time, games, news, even TV at this point! Montag’s wife is glued to the TV stating that there “her family” (Bradbury?) as we are to our phones. Montag’s society depends on the happiness and unawareness of the people to function, so what’s a better distraction than TV! They’ve become so dependent on electronics that everyone knows how they work. We are a system of election and the people’s rights but Mildred’s world of distraction and propaganda as betty states “What do we want more than anything? We want to be happy!”(Bradbury?). There entire government is revolving around the arrogance of the people and their cooperation on any matters.
