Two Ancient Floridian Inhabitants What kind of people lived in Florida before Florida became a state? Were they unique or not? There were two prominent groups of people that had lived in Florida in the 1800’s, the Seminoles and Florida Crackers. The Seminoles and the Florida Crackers had several things in common, but there are many things that they did not share in common and their differences set them apart so much. The Seminoles and the Florida Crackers have some things in common. Both adapted to their environments and became self sufficient.
