Chung is noted as a successful journalist and was awarded several awards such as 3 National Emmy Awards, Ohio State Award, National Headline Award, two American women in Radio and Television Nation Commendations award, and many others.

Connie Chung, originally named Constance Yu-Hwa Chung, was born as the youngest of ten children. She was born on August 20, 1946. Her parents were immigrants from China. Connie Chung has gotten a lot of positive feedback about her interviews however she has been put into a lot of different controversies along the way. For example, in the interview of Kathleen Gingrich, mother of Republican politician Newt Gingrich. In the interview, she had asked her what her son think of First Lady Hillary Clinton and asked to whisper that in her ear and the reply was supposed to be off air but it did not go off the air.
