Controlling Organized Crime Paper
Organized crime is an issue that has existed for many years and continues to be on the rise especially with the technology that we have today. Well – known criminal organizations include; Italian Mafia, Russian Mobsters, Nuestra Familia, Mexican Mafia, The Hell’s Angels, The Bandidos, John Gotti, Al Capone, and so much more. One of the most famous criminal organizations are the Gambino Family in which John Gotti was said to be the “Godfather” of the family and was the most powerful criminal in America. The best example that I have given is the neighborhoods of Detroit. Detroit is the most dangerous city in the U.S. Organized criminals have brought down communities to where citizens are fearful of their lives as they walk the streets of Detroit wondering if they are next in line to be a victim of robbery, rape, or murder. Opportunities for making life easier and better have failed because of organized criminals who run the streets. Citizens are unable to leave because they are not able to afford it. Who wants to open a business in that type of community? No one wants to take the chance of opening a business when they can be targeted as a victim. The only individuals that would are the criminals who open a business to run commit their crimes. That is how our communities suffer from organizations that especially involve drugs and prostitution. The relationships that criminal organizations may have with other groups makes it even more difficult. Their rivals sometimes may cross the line by disrespecting another group which can create a blood bath which can take innocent lives.
Combating Organized Crime
