While some people flourished under the Second Industrial Revolution, others were persecuted and continuously stepped on. Some of those included workers, farmers, women, and minorities. Firstly, workers were obviously affected due to the constant changing of business. Because of a 10% decrease in pay in 1877, the “Great Uprising” nearly ceased any movement on the railroads due to workers tearing up tracks and robbing the train cars. Eventually, after enough torment, they began to form stronger, different labor unions. One of which was the Knights of Labor.
