One of the worst days of my life was when my Uncle Clyde, my dad’s brother, died in a car crash a mile from my house. When we got the call we were all in shock, especially my dad, none of use moved or really knew what to do. I stayed awake with him and just talked to him about Clyde, he ended up telling me all the shit they use to do and trouble they would get in. The next day he went and comforted my aunt and was being strong for her and the family, he had just had shoulder surgery and he was trying to do everything he could to make things easier for them. He also talked to Fred, the man who was the opposite side of the accident to try and help him cope with it. It takes a very strong person to do that and it is incredible to me that he did that, the whole situation made me look at him completely different and I basically learned who to look up to. It was an awful time for my family as a whole and in a way he made it easier for me to cope with that loss. Dean Dahlhauser has had a major influence on my life as he has taught me different life lessons, took me on unforgettable trips, and shown me what it is to be a strong person. Without my dad I wouldn’t be the person I am today and I could not thank him enough for that, he continues to be my best friend and having an impact on my day-to-day life. In the novel, Orphan Train, it shows the importance of finding the important people that impact an individual’s life, luckily for me the most important, impactful person has been with me throughout my life, I could not be more thankful for
