I have always known that I would be interested in a job that is centered towards helping others. One of my top strong occupations include a Registered Nurse, overall this job seems to be a good fit for me all except the stress level coming from the patients and the some of the shifts that they get. One of my biggest wants out of a job at this point in my life is to have regular hours so I can provide stability for my child and working in a hospital would not meet this need. Another one of my strong occupations is a Physical Therapist, looking into this job it pays good and the job is definitely something that I am interested in. Talking to people who have had experience working in this job I have heard about the physical labor that you have to put into this job and my body is built smaller than average so I feel that this job isn’t for me because I wouldn’t be able to do the tasks properly.
According to my career report some of my top interest areas are healthcare services and medical science. I have always had a strong interest in teeth which brings me to a Dental Assistant. The dental hygienist job outlook is growing much faster than average jobs. Once you get into the dental program you will typically have a two year program to complete. According to the BLS the median pay is $34.38/hour which is more than double what the assistant makes; so the extra year of schooling to be a hygienist definitely pays off. Hygienists clean teeth, apply protectant, take X-rays, and instruct patients how to properly take care of their teeth. With this job I will also be able to work with a variety of different ages and personalities and there is opportunities to expand my career if I choose
