Merrill Matthews has stated that, “ Americans of all economic classes and backgrounds have always been able to escape life’s troubles by watching sports.” Kaepernick has changed many minds about watching sports. People now have to worry about what will happen next and can’t relax without getting stressed again. Kaepernick has caused a scene by taking people's entertainment away, causing great disrespect and having americans stress levels to rise up instead relaxing and enjoying the game. Not only have they made the game a altime stress level they also have gone too far by protesting. The pro athletes have gone too by bringing politics into a time for patriotism because disrespecting the flag the country has fought for, charity should have been the way to go instead of making a scene and Kaepernick actions have sparked schools and proleague.
Disrespecting the country’s flag that has been fought for is going to far and causes a scene. According to Merrill Matthews,” playing the national anthem is a time for patriotism, not politics.” Players have better ways to protest like charities and not to protest against the national anthem. Disrespecting the national anthem can affect soldiers and your career. One text stated that” Kaepernick and the 49ers recently announced they will be donating to charities focusing on racial issues.” Also it states that “ Kaepernick is to be the most disliked NFL player.” Charity should have been the first step into a protest and slowly move on but he choose not to and had gone too far with the whole protest and making americans dislike him day after day. Charity is the best way to go without any disrespect to the country. By donating money more people would understand more and would be more involved with
