The smells of freshly made hot dogs and popcorn can make anyones mouth water. The sounds of the cracks of the bats echo throughout the stadium. The deep, commanding voices of the umpires can make anyones voice stand on end. The cheering, angry voices of the fans can make you just want to be a part of it all. These incredible experiences have been loved by many as they watch their favorite game. The history of baseball is an intriguing one with the humble beginnings not as they seem, early baseball shooting off with a bang, and nothing comparing to the great game of today.

Initially, the supposed creator of baseball was a guy named Abner Doubleday. The History.com Staff on “History.com” say the legend says, “...a young man named Abner Doubleday invented the game known as baseball in Cooperstown, New York, during the summer of 1839.” However, Doubleday had nothing to do with the sport at all. The History.com Staff on the website “History.com” say, “In September 1845, a group of New York City men founded the New York Knickerbocker Baseball Club.” These people supposedly got the idea of baseball from two english sports call Cricket and Rounders. The History.com Staff say, “...the first set of rules which resemble the game today come from the New York Knickerbocker Baseball Club,...” After this set of rules were established, the game’s popularity and games were starting to be played all over.
