Most college athletes work for their scholarship, with practices, study hall, and games. Going to school and playing a sport is a full time job. With all of the practices/games plus study sessions you have, it literally takes up all of the players time. Therefore, the athletes do not have time to get a job to earn a little extra cash on the side to him them get through the year to buy things outside the realm that is covered by the scholarships.
