Toni Morrison has, and always will be, a great inspiration to many. She was born Chloe Anthony Wofford on February 18, 1931 in Lorain, Ohio. She was the second oldest of four children born to a welder and a domestic worker (Biography.com Editors). It can be easily seen that through the number of trials and hardships that Morrison faced throughout her life she always seemed to keep pushing and to never give up. After Morrison graduated from Lorain High School in 1949 she went to Howard University in Washington, DC. She acquired her bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in classics then continued on to Cornell University.
