Racism and bigotry and hatred, oh my! Racism, the belief that one’s race, skin color, or more generally, one’s group, be it of religion, nationality, or ethnic identity, is superior to others in humanity. A belief that has been a part of our country since the European colonization of North America beginning in the 17th century. Now, imagine a world where this didn’t exist, a world where we could have avoided genocide, mass murder, stolen land, and the continuance of discrimination that is so delightfully prominent in our wonderful country to this day!

Picture this, North Americas’ shores awaiting the arrival of the Europeans’ and their systematic plan to subdue and conquer already colonized land, along with the racism and bigotry against, innocent people, the Native Americans. Europeans believed that the original inhabitants of America were heathens and savages who needed to be civilized through Christianity and European culture, but what if instead of making brash conclusions of what is justifiably correct, they learned about the culture (not stole) of the people, realized that there was more than just one race, and learned to accept rather than murder. World leaders would be chosen on the basis of ethics rather than hierarchy. Acceptance is what is needed in order for a country to strive! Individuals think differently, form their own opinions, and hold different talents, with the collaboration of all groups and genders we can achieve positive change! Everyone has a voice that needs to be heard, imagine the progress we would see if discrimination were no more, the possibilities are endless. With the knowledge and talent of differing individuals’ different perspectives can be offered, meaning that solutions with lasting positive results would be found faster, meaning that an even more positive future would be
