My peers believe if an individual is a first generation American or economically disadvantaged then they will not move towards a positive direction in society. I disagree with my peers; I believe that anyone can do whatever they want as long as they put their mind towards their goals. I am economically disadvantaged and I am a first generation American, however, I have moved forward in society, I have built robots for the First Robotics Competition, created several fundraisers for the National Honors Society, and raised blood for the Red Cross Blood Drive. What I learned from this is one can be disadvantaged from every conceivable direction; however, one will dictate how their disadvantage will affect their life. A poor work ethic leads to excessive procrastination and a great work ethic leads to long term success. My work ethic has allowed me to balance a very difficult schedule, for the past four years. I have volunteered for hundreds of hours, participated in many clubs, and gained three college credits in Microbiology 101. This has given me a great sense in leadership and responsibility. My newly gained attribute helped me view no challenge to great, no assignment too hard, and no task too difficult. Due to my work ethic I stand here able to say I have never given up on anything and have always reached my goals. My talents have helped me create staggering achievements. Now as I exit
