Having a concussion in general is very harmful because you can have brain damage such as the following: lose memory, have mental confusion, and have of period of time being unconscious. Some of the most common ways of getting a concussion in football is by having head to head contact with another player, or getting hit blindsided (getting hit without looking).(www.nhs.uk) Trey, a friend of mine, almost witnessed a concussion happen because he plays football. This is what happened. One of his teammates blindsided tackled a player from the opposing team. The kid laid there for a few minutes without moving. I know, when a person does not move after getting hit like that, is not good. The coaches called the paramedics on the field to help him. Next thing you know, the player was on his way to the hospital. No one knew exactly what type of injury he had. Later, the coaches found out he had broken ribs and a concussion. This is just an example of injuries that occur during football in little league. As kids get older and continue to play football in high school, in college and professional football, injuries tend to get worse. When fans watch football games on T.V. they witness some horrifying injuries. Injuries such as players arms or legs being broken, players getting tackled so hard their helmets fall off, players getting blind sided by more than one player causing concussions, and many more other injuries
