It helps professionals understand the choices and the motivates people make under the circumstances they are experiencing in their live. Knowing what the mind is processing and how it is affecting the behavior lets us understand better the situation unfolding and why they did what they did. Law is a set of rules or guidelines that is set in place for the protection and safety of others and when they are broken there will be punishment that follows it accordingly. This is when officers or someone in law takes you into an interrogation room and questions you in detail about why you are there in the first place. It is a psychological game really. They will do everything in their power to try to get you to convince to the crime that has been committed. The mind will go into defense mood if one is innocent. The sole purpose is they want you to admit to the crime there and then. If you are innocent and you know it resists everything they through at you. They have the most to lose not getting a confession right there and here’s why. A confession is even more powerful than eyewitness testimony in a criminal trial. I had a hard time believing this because if there is an eyewitness is his word not good enough compared to the officers. I mean he was there at the time of the crime so what’s the difference. They have planned all of this from the beginning and are trying to make their jobs easier by getting a confession right off the bat. So I can’t say this enough if you know you’re innocent just resists and ask to have an attorney present you have that right. You don’t want what you say to be used against you so don’t say
