presidential power was one of the most powerful in US history because he created freedom for
all the citizens in the US, but yet many people had no right to vote on that time.
Since the 19th century, the US presidency duties had structural changes when America
became a world power with corporate dominated economy. For example, Theodore Roosevelt,
aggressively pushed and enhanced powers of the office since Lincoln’s death (Greenberg, p.
386). One of the major accomplishment during Teddy Roosevelt’s term was the creation of the
National Park system. Another major president in the modern era was Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Despite Roosevelt’s executive order to place Japanese-Americans into isolated internment
camps, he had many major accomplishments, including ending the Great Depression in the US,
and modernizing the US military at the end of World War 2. Ultimately, the modern era of US
history had its many changes in the role of presidency when it comes to becoming chief of our
nation.
With these examples, how these changes were important for each individual president?
