Men were the dominant sex, and it was showed through everyday life as well as the jobs they were allow to work. It stated in Envisioning women that “women’s position differed greatly depending first on their society’s ecology, and second whether they were urban dwellers”(Clay). This society ecology was male driven meaning everything was strongly supporting or benetifical to the males from jobs to everyday life. They ran their society different because men and women were actually looked at equally something almost foreign to many other societies. Not only was their way of life different, but they experiemented with the marriage arrangments as well. Taken directly from Envisioning Women in World History “different forms of marital arrangements” (Clay). This meant in some cases men and women were allow to have different sex partners as well as husbands depending on the time period they were brough up in. Something else practiced in this day and age was temporary marriages meaning you and your sprouce were not together until death separated the couple. These are practicies some people may have been punished for in other societies. This society was very easy going, and by far the least strict amogous the other two societies I discussed here today. Before reading about these three societies if you would have asked me to guess the most strict society I would have probably said Islamic because of they are viewed today. Meaning Islamic people in today’s society are more religion based private people compared to this day and age, where everything is free willing and you are allow to try almost whatever you want as long as you have some reasoning behind
