My greatest accomplishment that has affected me physically and emotionally was winning regionals this past year in softball to advance to the state tournament. It was the 2014-2015 school years and my sophomore year. Throughout the year and my freshman year, Coach Aaron Mullens (Head Softball Coach) has preached and preached about making it to state and winning it. Unfortunately, we did not win it this year at state, but winning regionals and advancing to the state level since around 2005 was a big accomplishment for not only me and my teammates, but also for Durant High School itself. That is a memory that will live with all of the girls forever, including me.
The weekend of October 8-9 of 2014 was the regional tournament; it involved four teams trying to reach the same goal. Working all season just to get the one chance of being able to say that we reached something. It started out waking up early for early batting practice, doing our daily pre-game ritual, trying to get the team as excited and pumped up for the championship game. Next, Coach Mullens pulled us aside and explained how proud he was of us for all of our hard work and dedication to the sport. Unfortunately, we did not win, but fortunately we only lost to the State Championship by one run. The team that we played knocked out every other team that they played against. Run ruling them by numerous runs such as, 11-0, 15-0, even 20-0. Coming from a number of their fans, we were their biggest competition the whole season. This means, we have an opportunity and a chance to take it all one day. This means, we have improved, from season to season. Durant High School has improved extremely over the last 10 years and will continue to improve through hard work and
