As explained in Part A, I was responsible for the creation and implementation of a new simulation curriculum for final year medical students. This involved designing a new set of simulation scenarios to be used. Initially I had decided that I wanted to use the simulation sessions to allow students to practice clinical decision making and team working skills whilst developing their approach to assessing a sick patient. I felt that students should aim to be comfortable using these skills to the level of a foundation doctor, as they would be expected to demonstrate these skills in their summative exams and when they begin to work.
