Hernan Cortez, a Spaniard conquistador mostly known for his conquer of Mexico had a long journey throughout the years of 1519-1521. On March 1519 Cortez arrived at Tabasco where he and his sailors stayed to gain knowledge from the Indians. After learning how the Indians survived and their culture they traveled further South and settled down in Veracruz. Cortez was then elected as chief, he took the command and started o discipline his army. Cortez committed himself and his army to survive by conquering after burning dow their ship. Montezuma, the ruler of the Aztec empire of Mexico did not want Cortez near Tehochtitlán or the capital, Mexico. Montezuma threatened Cortez. The nation of Tlaxcala which was also having problems decided to support and allied Cortez. November 8, 1519, Cortez entered the city with a small Spaniard force and Tlaxcaltecs. Montezuma finally received Cortez with great honour believing that it would incarnate an Aztec God Quetzalcoatl. Cortez took advantage and decided to take over Montezuma in order for him to accomplished his political conquest and conversion of religions. Soon Tenochtitlan had a new master, Cortez.

Through many subsequent wars, he was successful at conquering territories that were nearby the city. But for Cortez, it wasn't enough. He wanted to conquer the city and didn't let anything hold him back from making it happen. August 13, 1521, was the day that he finally accomplished his goal, he conquered from side to side of the city. His victory was the fall of the Aztec empire.
