Heroes In Beowulf, The Hulk, And Green Arrow

A great hero is a person who leads or takes the first step in helping others. Regardless of the people’s negative view towards them, they still did the right thing even when no one is watching: integrity and they made sacrifices for other people. Beowulf, The Hulk, and Green Arrow are all great heroes that struggle to express it in a moral way. They are all smart and wise but not all heroes are made flawless. Despite their flaws, they are still heroes. They do the right thing and make sacrifices to help protect the people from harm. These three men continue to act as a hero even when the people treated them as villain or doubted them to be consider as a hero. One of Beowulf’s characteristics that resembles his heroism is pride but he still gave credit to the Lord (Fisher). “In a tight grip and grapple him to death— Have him panting for life, powerless and clasped In my bare hands, his body in thrall. But I couldn’t stop him from slipping my hold. The Lord allowed it, my lock on him” (He is seen as a hero because he fought his nemesis with his bare hands.(quote). This shows his heroic confidence and the sacrifices being made to protect his people (Fisher). Despite the fact that there were others who obtained and expressed envy towards Beowulf as the selected hero. Unferth, a man who doubted Beowulf and made negative claims that he would accomplish nothing but failure along the road. “Beowulf’s coming, his sea-braving, made him sick with envy: He could not brook or abide the fact that anyone else alive under the heaven might enjoy greater regard than he did:...friend or foe, to deflect the pair the pair of you, Neither would back down: the sea-test obsessed you (lines 491-661).” Beowulf did the right thing even when no was watching, he defeated Grendel and his mother. He still annihilated any evil that came across to protect his people from getting hurt. He put himself in front of others before anyone: sacrifice. He only comes out when the professor is in danger or when the Hulk sees injustice in this world. He is also a part time of the “Avenger”. He is a hero who helps protect the earth from a ruler of chaos. His anger led into smashing everything and the community would view him as a villain at first sight. The community choose to eliminate the Hulk through military use but it only made the Hulk stronger and anger. In the end, he realize his faults and made changes towards more of the side of helping people out. He tried to do the right thing even when no one realized what he was doing was to protect the people from danger. He still resembles as a hero even though the Hulk struggles to express it in a moral way.
